In line with strengthening university collaborations with society and industry, a seminar reporting on the sabbatical period of Dr. Mohammad Tavassoli, a faculty member of the Management Department of the Alashtar Satellite Center of Lorestan University, was held virtually on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

This meeting, focusing on "Review, Analysis, and Identification of Problems in the Production Sector of Lorestan Province: Recommendations for Improving the Current Situation," examined the challenges of industrial and economic development in the province.

The primary objective of this period was to identify the causes of underdevelopment in Lorestan province and to provide practical solutions for improvement.

During this study period, effective development indicators were clarified, the position of Lorestan was compared with other provinces, and a suitable institutional-social and technical-economic evaluation and analysis model was selected.

Fourteen indicators in the educational, economic, social, and infrastructural fields were examined for comparison among the 31 provinces of the country. Key findings of the study revealed a significant gap in the distribution of resources and development opportunities among the country's provinces, particularly in the infrastructural and educational sectors. The results indicated that educational and technological indicators have the greatest impact on the performance of Lorestan province. This study, as a quantitative and relative decision-making tool, has provided practical solutions for provincial managers and policymakers.
